Dragon Tiger Malaysia — Play Dragon Tiger on TPOWER

One card for Dragon, one for Tiger, and the higher card wins. Dragon tiger is the simplest game on the live casino floor and one of the quickest, so this page covers the rules, the tie, and how to keep the pace under control.

What is dragon tiger?

Four aces spread on a black surface

Dragon tiger is a two-card game with roots in baccarat, played at live casinos across Asia. The dealer turns one card for the Dragon position and one for the Tiger, both face up. You bet on which card will be higher, or on a tie. There is no drawing, no third card and no adding up of totals, so each round is settled the moment the second card is turned.

Live dragon tiger is dealt at a real table from a shoe of several decks, commonly eight, and streamed to your screen. It is one of the four games in the TPOWER live casino, with tables from providers such as AG, AE, CT855, Pegasus, Evolution and Dream Gaming.

Dragon tiger variants you may see

The card comparison never changes. What changes from table to table is the pace, the extra bets and the way ties are paid.

  • Classic dragon tiger. Dragon, Tiger and Tie, with a short betting window between deals.
  • Speed tables. An even shorter window and faster dealing, which means more rounds, and more money staked, in the same time.
  • Tables with side bets. Optional extra bets on the features of each card, described below. The main game is unchanged.
  • Suited-tie payouts. Some tables pay a separate, higher rate when both cards match in rank and in suit.

How to play dragon tiger

Card ranking

Only the rank counts. The Ace is lowest, counted as one, followed by 2 to 10, then Jack, Queen and King, which is highest. Suits do not decide the main bets.

The main bets

  • Dragon wins if the Dragon card is higher, and pays even money.
  • Tiger wins if the Tiger card is higher, and pays even money.
  • Tie wins if both cards have the same rank, commonly at 8 to 1. Some tables pay more.

What happens on a tie

This is the rule to check first. On many tables, when the cards tie, Dragon and Tiger bets lose half their stake and the other half is returned. Some tables take the whole stake instead. Either way, the tie rule is the source of the house edge on the Dragon and Tiger bets: without it, they would be an even contest.

Side bets

Tables that offer side bets usually base them on a single card, for example whether it is big or small, odd or even, or red or black. How a seven is treated and what each side bet pays differ by table, so read the panel before you use them.

Playing dragon tiger on mobile and in the TPOWER app

Dragon tiger fits a phone screen well: three main betting areas, two cards and a result you can read at a glance. Play in your mobile browser or in the TPOWER app for Android and iPhone; the download page has the install steps.

  • Watch the timer. Betting windows are short, and a tap after the countdown ends is not accepted.
  • Do not rebet on autopilot. Repeat buttons make it easy to keep going round after round without deciding each bet. Pause between rounds now and then.
  • Keep to one table. Multi-table views are tempting in a quick game, but they multiply both the pace and the stakes.
  • Stay connected. If your stream drops, the round still completes at the table. If a settled bet looks wrong, note the table and the time and tap the support button to reach live support.

Tips: pacing, odds and your budget

Dragon tiger's appeal is also its main risk. Rounds are short and the game asks almost nothing of you, so it is easy to play far more hands than you planned. These tips are about staying in control, not about winning.

  • Set a time limit as well as a money limit. Decide in advance how long you will play, not just how much you will spend, and use TPOWER's session limits to back it up.
  • Understand the tie. Where a tie takes half of Dragon and Tiger stakes, the house edge on those bets is a little under 4% in an eight-deck game. The Tie bet itself, at 8 to 1, carries one of the highest house edges in the live casino.
  • The road is history, not a signal. As in baccarat, dragon tiger tables show scoreboards of past results. Patterns on the board do not predict the next card.
  • Keep stakes steady. Raising your stake to recover a loss does not change the odds, and in a fast game it can empty a budget quickly.
  • Take breaks. Short rounds blur together, and a pause helps you check where you stand. The responsible gaming page covers deposit and session limits, breaks and self-exclusion.

Dragon tiger is for adults aged 18 and over. It is a close relative of live baccarat, which adds totals and third-card rules; for a dice game with a similar pace, try sic bo.

Dragon tiger questions

What happens to a Dragon or Tiger bet when the cards tie?

On many tables you lose half the stake and get the other half back; on some you lose all of it. The table’s rules panel says which. A bet on Tie is paid at the table’s tie rate.

Is the Ace high or low in dragon tiger?

Low. The Ace counts as one, the lowest card, and the King is the highest. Suits do not matter for the main bets.

How is dragon tiger different from baccarat?

Each side gets one card instead of two or three, there are no totals and no third-card rules, and the higher card simply wins. Baccarat also commonly takes a commission on Banker wins, while Dragon and Tiger both pay even money.

Can the scoreboard tell me which side will win next?

No. It shows what has already happened, and patterns in it do not predict the next deal. Treat the game as entertainment and bet only what fits your budget.

Can I play dragon tiger in the TPOWER app?

Yes. The TPOWER app is available for Android and iPhone, and the live tables also run in a mobile browser. The download page shows the install steps for each.
